INSOMNIA CENTRAL and BY THE SYCAMORE TREES are two tracks about insomnia and racing thoughts at night. The first-person narrator doesn't know why she can't calm down and can't get rid of her inner voices. Whenever that happens, she gets in her car and drives to a derelict mall. In the parking lot in front of the mall, she lies down on the ground and stares through the treetops at the night sky. Like the roots of these trees, the first-person narrator's psychological problems lie deep beneath the surface of the visible. There are already cracks in the asphalt here and there.
